KC's story continues in a journal beginning in June 1968 through early February 1969

She begins with "An Introduction of Sorts"

    I’m afraid the printed dates in this book are going to have to be ignored by the reader (if there ever are any) because I’m beginning to write this in June.

I don’t know what’s going to happen here but maybe something good will evolve.  Anyway, I shall try to be as nice as I can and I shall try not to sound like an idiotic person which I am quite capable of.  No, indeed, I shall endeavor to do the best I can and let my sense of humour come through.  I am going to write the actual date at the head of each page.  Here goes.

She followed this with a Note:

    This is not a diary.  It is a record, a journal of all that goes on in my daily life and the lives of those that touch mine.

    I cannot paint everything I want my descendants to see, with a brush, so I am using the palette of words.  In this way I hope that those who follow me may have some idea of the times and way of life that I know so well.  If there are any who are interested then this book is dedicated to them, with the hope that this be passed on to their children and so carry on some memory of the country and home I love so much.
